I designed this Lyre based partly on the Buste-Socle figurine the Bard of Paule from 2nd Century BCE Brittany, along with other iron-age representations of lyres, and with some elements taken from later Saxon lyres. It is an attempt at a plausible instrument to match archaeological finds from iron-age Scotland which have been identified as lyre bridges.
